The IES'La Florida 'of Las Torres de Cotillas has been a finalist in the contest' Science in Action 2018 ', which is aimed at teachers of all educational levels, researchers and science disseminators, as well as anyone interested in teaching the science, Spain, Portugal and Latin American countries. And they have achieved it in the 'Mathematics Laboratory' mode with the work 'Buscando a Pitágoras', a set of activities organized around the findings of the well-known mathematician.
"This project has been directed by Iria Vidal, professor of the department of mathematics of the center, and has been carried out by students of 2nd ESO", explains the Councilor for Education, Pedro Cabrera, who notes that the contest is organized, among others- by the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry (RSEQ), the Institute of Mathematical Sciences (ICMAT) and the National University of Distance Education (UNED).
The final, in Viladecans
The best works will be presented in the final that this year will take place in the town of Viladecans in Barcelona from October 5 to 7.
"To defend the project will travel a representation of the students of the group, accompanied by two teachers of the center," advances the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, who wishes them "all the luck of the world in the last round of this important educational contest."
