Two and a half decades ago, a group of enthusiastic women from Las Torres de Cotillas decided to embark on an adventure, a trip full of attractions and a pleasant balance.
The Torrena women set out to realize a collective dream that has given rise to strength, the strength of an association that today integrates more than two and a half hundred neighbors into its ranks.
If it had not existed, the Association of Women "Isabel González" would have to invent it because throughout this quarter of a century they have put in solfa the social life of this municipality of the Vega Media enhancing the role of the torreñas in all aspects of the run from the Villa.
Hand in hand with this group the neighbors have benefited from the enjoyment of cultural activities, training, sports, leisure and recreation, ... A host of initiatives that run throughout the year and respond to demands, needs and concerns of Torrena women.
The largest female association in the town and one of the most active and dynamic not only of this town but also of the Murcia Region is an authentic school of life, a space of coexistence, harmony and continuous improvement both in the human and associative .
And it is that the Association of Women "Isabel González" of Las Torres de Cotillas is a collective that makes people from the base, arises from the citizenship of on foot to work for an active municipality.
The same neighbors are the protagonists of what moves in that Villa, of the good things that are shown in the locality.
The women who make up this collective restless take to their maximum expression the participative concept, the ideals of internal democracy and of putting in value of common proposals.
They do so by contributing their ideas, projects, dreams, making them a reality with the tacit agreement of their members, in a word, making municipality day by day, making pineapple and rock in favor of the best for Las Torres de Cotillas.
And the result of all this is a wide and varied repertoire of activities during the twelve months of the year.
Realistic actions, things of profit, in short, that have marked and mark the direction of a people in pursuit of its progress, improving and covering the plans of more projection and meaning in their neighbors.
An agenda of events and realizations adapted to the demands, needs and tastes of the recipients of them, the women as a whole of Las Torres de Cotillas.
As data to point out in this regard, to date, it should be reiterated, more than 250 members framed in the largest female collective Torreño develop projects of great scope and scope.
We speak of realizations framed in several themes and contents of positive and constructive projection that go from the formation - with endless of workshops and cycles of talks or conferences -, the cultural and leisure itineraries up to the individual and collective support focused all this to enhance the role of the local woman in society at the moment in which she participates as a mother, wife and / or professional.
With this intense activity, the Association of Women "Isabel González" follows the pattern that in the nineteenth century marked the remembered writer and apostle of the Spanish regeneration Angel Ganivet with this sentence that said: "The woman has only one way to overcome in everything moment: to be every day more woman ".
Torrena women, from their position in society, in the family, in the course of their municipality, have and bring values ​​and knowledge that allow us to achieve a better tomorrow.
In short, the Association of Women "Isabel González" is an unavoidable landmark, significant and vital when it comes to forging a locality focused on the goal of full social equality.
