The body of Civil Protection of Las Torres de Cotillas already has its two new tools: a car and a drone that will be used for their actions in the municipality.

Both have been acquired by the City Council in the framework of an improvement plan for local security bodies.

"Civil Protection volunteers do a great job in our town and our duty is to provide them with the best means to continue carrying it out," says the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, who presided over the official delivery ceremony.

But this vehicle will not be the only acquisition of the Torreño Consistory within that plan to facilitate the work of local security forces.

"Soon the Local Police will have two new cars that will be added to their current fleet of vehicles," says Zapata, who stresses that these purchases are new financially sustainable investments Torreño City Council.

Three activities for the drone

The authorized activities for this device in Las Torres de Cotillas will be three: observation and aerial surveillance in forest fires;

emergency operations, search and rescue;

and photography and filming of training operations for new pilots and rescues.

"There are two members of this body who have received the relevant training and license, and are the only ones who can fly this drone", points out the Councilor for Police and Civil Protection, Pedro José Noguera, who recalls that "drones have Flight authorizations regulated by the Spanish Air Safety Agency and can not be used for uses other than those accredited. "
