The Vuelta Ciclista a Murcia, played this weekend, paid posthumous tribute to Antonio Sarabia, a great defender of this sport in Las Torres de Cotillas and throughout the region.
"Before the departure of the second and last stage, their families received the affection of the cyclists, captained by the world champion Alejandro Valverde, for the support of Antonio to this event", says the mayoress Torrena, Isabel María Zapata, who highlights the great passion and commitment of this Torreño in the promotion of the sport of cycling.
The edition of this Vuelta, disputed in two stages, was for the Murcian Luis León Sánchez, who beat his compatriot Valverde.
"We had in the first stage a flying goal in the municipality, just in front of Sarabia Cycles, a gesture that rounded the tribute to Antonio," says the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez.
