Las Torres de Cotillas is celebrating another year on March 8 (02/03/2019)

The Council of Equality of Las Torres de Cotillas has already started its program of activities to celebrate the International Day for Women's Rights and World Peace.

The first one took place at the Women's Center on Friday, March 1 and it was the talk "Talk-you", which was run by Lola Mateo organized by the women's association Para Todos and which was attended by the councilor of the area, María Dolores Sánchez.

Today, Saturday, March 2, more than 100 torreñas have traveled to the Valencian town of Ayora to, through "the route of the red thread", know their places, monuments, anecdotes and traditions.

Follow the program

Tomorrow Sunday March 3 (11'30 hours) the House of Culture Pedro Serna will host the talk "Women migrants and labor market", which will be borne by Eugenia Pérez, responsible for the area of ​​Women UGT Region of Murcia.

Organized by the Association of Senegalese Women of Las Torres de Cotillas (AMSET), at the end there will be a small tasting of African food.

On Monday, March 4 (11:30 a.m.) on the same stage will take place the talk "Love as Equals, How to detect toxic relationships among adolescents", offered by the expert Miriam Oller, of Cultural Actions.

Oller will also be in charge of the two co-educational storytelling children's workshops to be held at the municipal library located at the Casa de la Cultura on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 March, both days with the same schedule: at 4:00 pm for attendees 3 to 6 years and at 5:30 pm from 7 to 10 years.

Also on Wednesday will be the traditional tasting of pastry organized by the women's association Isabel González (4:30 pm).

More activities

The union of sport and gastronomy will be the axis of the second edition of the GastroSport Route that will take place on Thursday, March 7 and where its participants will walk through various bars and restaurants in the municipality.

With departure at 9 am, has a price of 5 euros and limited places, and will be directed by Chari Oller, Cultural Actions monitor.

In the afternoon, the book "Telling Stories of Equality and Values" will be presented at the Center for Young Artists (7:30 pm), held by the creative reading workshop group of the Department of Equality.

On Friday, March 8, the date of commemoration of the international day for women's rights and world peace, the III Equality Plan of the municipality will be presented at the Town Hall (5:30 pm).

Final stretch

On Saturday, March 9, the GastroSport Route will be repeated (9 hours) and the following day (18 hours) the theater group of the coeducational workshop for young people of the Department of Equality will interpret the work "How to Change" at the Pedro Serna House of Culture the story".

To conclude this program, on Monday 11 and Wednesday 13 March (17 hours) the Colucho Foundation will give workshops at the Casa de la Cultura to raise awareness and prevent any form of violence against women.

"This program, conceived as the week of the woman, is a tradition in our municipality and contemplates leisure and training proposals for all," says the mayor, Isabel María Zapata.
