More than 100 players from all over the country will meet on March 9 and 10 in the municipal pavilion 'Mireia Belmonte' of Las Torres de Cotillas to compete for a test of the five-star senior national circuit of the Spanish Badminton Federation.
The tournament was presented on Monday, March 4 by the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, the councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez, and the secretary of the Federation of Badminton of the Region of Murcia, Antonio Brao.
This event, in which the Higher Council of Sports and the Department of Physical Activity and Sports collaborate, will be played in various categories divided according to age and in the modalities of singles and doubles.
"This is a tournament with great roots in our town, as it is the fourth occasion that is disputed after the editions of 2015, 2016 and 2018", explains Zapata, who highlights the importance of this sport in Las Torres de Cotillas.
"We expect our representatives to stand out again like they did last year, where they hung one silver and five bronzes," says Pérez, who points out that this is one of the tournaments in which you can see the best badminton of veterans in the country.
