The association Brodguay was commissioned last night to proclaim the 2019 Carnival of Las Torres de Cotillas, in an event organized by the Department of Celebrations in the House of Culture Pedro Serna.
The evening featured the performance of its young members, who showed their talent on stage for the enjoyment of the large audience.
"Every year a local association announces these festivities that are so eagerly awaited in our town and the proclamation of Brodguay was very imaginative, in an act where the local comparsas participating in our parades were also recognized," explains the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, present in this event.
The night also had the chirigotero air that they put The Sangochaos of Torrevieja and the Chiriwoman of Caravaca de la Cruz, first and second classified of the second contest of chirigotas of the municipality celebrated the previous night in the same enclosure.
Organized by the Department of Celebrations, this contest meant the opening of these festivities and in it, in addition to the first two (which took 1,000 and 500 euros respectively), three other chirigotas acted: those of the Murcia districts of La Albatalía and Cabezo de Torres, as well as the male from Caravaca.
Parades and route of the cover
The carnival weekend will be completed with two parades that depart from Juan Carlos I Avenue and in which the imagination, talent and all the desire to have a good time of Las Torres de Cotillas: the adult that will take place today, Saturday 9 March (18 hours), with a tour to the Hermitage of the Cross, and in which more than 800 participants are expected;
and the children's, which will be released tomorrow, Sunday, March 10 (12 hours) and in which about 600 boys and girls will go to the roundabout on Mula Street.
"The parade of the youngest of the house was held for the first time last year, with such success that we repeat and we are sure that it will have more public still," says Councilwoman of Celebrations, Amalia Perez.
In addition, to give a special touch to these celebrations a route of the express lid is celebrated.
From last 8 until tomorrow Sunday March 10 and from 12 to 16 hours 12 establishments offer more beer or soft drink for 2'50 euros.
