The popular proposals presented in the 2019 participatory budgeting process of Las Torres de Cotillas are already in the technical evaluation phase.

After a first phase of collecting proposals and the prioritization session held in the neighborhood center of La Florida a few days ago, municipal technicians are now in charge of confirming the viability of a total of 190 ideas and, where appropriate, evaluating them economically.

Next steps

After the evaluation of the municipal technicians of the screened ideas, at the end of March the proposals that will be voted on April 1 will be publicized.

Finally, on April 8 there will be a day of citizen participation to publicize the chosen projects.

The municipal objective is to continue promoting citizen participation to improve the quality of decision-making at the local level, as well as increasing the citizens' knowledge of these processes, developing a more effective and inclusive municipal budget.

In addition, this project -which has the supervision of the research team of the University of Murcia- intends to integrate the participation of specific, more vulnerable sectors of the population.

Departure of 350,000 euros

The participatory budgeting process 2019, which began on January 31 and is open to the entire population over 16 years, has 350,000 euros allocated to activities and / or financially sustainable investments.

These funds will be distributed as follows: two items of at least 10,000 euros for both the area of ​​women and equality for the elderly, another of a minimum of 15,000 euros for the area of ​​people with diversity and another more than 30,000 euros at least for districts.

In addition, a maximum of 285,000 euros of free designation will be allocated.
