A broad representation of the staff of the City of Las Torres de Cotillas has participated in training courses on the use of semiautomatic defibrillators (DESA), which have been taught by the local body of Civil Protection.
"The installation of this type of apparatus is planned in the different municipal buildings in which the influx of public is remarkable, so it was necessary that our employees know how to use them", explains Torreño mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández.
These courses, held at the facilities of Civil Protection, had theoretical and practical training.
In their classes the assistants learned basic life support techniques (Heimlich maneuver, CPR, etc.) and finished by taking an exam on the subject taught.
Other municipal facilities
All municipal sports facilities already have a defibrillator of these characteristics, in addition to the two with Civil Protection account and another that is installed in the Comprehensive Security Center.
"The sports monitors and local police officers have already made their corresponding training course in the use of these devices and are properly accredited," explains Personal Councilor Elisa Isabel Hurtado Avilés.
In addition, at the beginning of the next school year, defibrillators will be installed in all schools in the population.
"With this endowment will go even the training for teachers of these schools," says the mayor.
