Some celebrations that have been presented today Monday, August 12 at the Torreño City Council by the mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández, and the councilor of Festejos, Francisco José Caravaca Bravo.
"The festivities are an opportunity to meet between generations and social groups, an occasion for the coexistence of families, a necessary rest in the work year and enjoy culture, leisure, gastronomy and our best traditions, in a few days that must remain in our memories ", highlights the mayor.
"This year the musical offer is very important and highlights the concert with free admission that the popular group Camela will offer next Saturday, August 31 at the Onofre Fernández Verdú municipal soccer field," says the mayor, who also highlights the young concert of the Friday, August 30 (23 hours) at the Maestro Don Ángel Palazón esplanade featuring three Murcian groups and also with free admission: Funambulista, Kuve and Ayoho.
Novel Proposals
Among the novelties of this year, the Family Festival (August 27, 20 hours) stands out in the program, which will offer music, circus workshops and juggling for the public of all ages in the Juan Baño municipal auditorium;
the Young Party (August 27, 23 hours), with music, dj and foam party on the esplanade Maestro Don Ángel Palazón;
the tasting of a striking giant snack and soda (August 31, 12 hours);
or the Vamos Vamos Peñas gala (August 29, 23 hours), which this year returns to the Torreño celebrations.
Another novelty of this year is the institutional declaration of parties free of sexist aggressions.
"From the institutions we must claim parties based on respect and free from aggressions, but also free from passive attitudes against any physical or verbal expression that does not respect women," explains Vela Fernández.
A statement that - among other actions - carries with it an informative campaign, as well as the installation in various festive events of 'Lilac Points', which will offer guidance, advice and information on sexist aggressions.
Faithful also to tradition
The traditional events such as the descent in the pilgrimage of the Virgin (Saturday 24, 19 hours), the international folklore festival Juan Madrid Roca (Saturday 24, 22 hours), the large free children's playground (August 25, 19 hours), the Grand Prix (August 25, 20 hours), the route of the cover (which will begin on August 26) the release of heifers (Monday 26 and Tuesday 27, 20 hours) or the Night of the Brasa ( August 26, 22 hours).
