The Petanque club La Salceda in Las Torres de Cotillas was proclaimed champion and runner-up of the President Cup in the women's category, which was held in Puente Tocinos (Murcia) last Sunday, October 6.

María Isabel Bosque, Dolores García, María Encarnación Alcolea and Silvia Soriano were the members of the Torreño team, which had to face a day of hard competition and heat.

"Now from October 25 to 27 we will play the National Women's League of clubs in Torrelavega (Cantabria), we are looking forward to playing the best possible role.

We hope to be lucky and be able to bring the name of our club and our people to the top, "the players point out.

This regional championship was also played in men's and youth categories, the latter section where the torreños swept, taking the top positions.

Nerea García and Dani Morales were runners-up, José García and Pedro García finished in third place and Antonio García and Pedro Guardiola finished in fourth position.
