The Municipal Council of the strategy "Las Torres 2025 Come and Stay", promoted by the City of Las Torres de Cotillas, celebrated on the night of Wednesday, February 22, its first meeting of work that served for its official constitution.

"The members of this consultative body whose fundamental axis is citizen participation were elected last January after a round of meetings with the 111 associations of the municipality," said the Councilor for Proposals and Defense of the Citizen, Gloria Fernandez, who points out that Its role will be to "act as a permanent and multidisciplinary advisory body for the implementation and execution of the strategy".

The initial meeting of this Council, whose creation was approved last November with the only vote against Cambio Las Torres, took place in the Plenary Hall of the Consistory Torreño.

"During this first day several working groups were created that will deal with specific issues," explains the delegate of the strategy, Angel Gonzalez, who points out that the next meeting will be held in early March.

Improve the municipality

This body is formed by the mayor, a secretary - Balan Diamanka, who was elected at this meeting - between its members and the corresponding members.

These, in addition to the delegated councilor, have been chosen as follows: six appointed by cultural associations, five by sports associations, three by social associations and disabled, two by religious associations, two by neighborhood associations , Two by student associations and two by AMPAS of educational institutions, while youth associations, immigrant associations, traders' associations and entrepreneurs, each political group, each of the most representative trade unions and the Commission Strategy tracking have each designated one.

The strategy "Las Torres 2025 Come and Stay" was born after a process that lasted months for the collection of ideas and proposals from the municipality, concession companies, entrepreneurs, businessmen, cultural, political and social agents of the municipality.

This is a line of work that takes into account aspects such as energy, the environment, mobility, social integration and citizen participation.

"With this plan we want to improve the municipality, make it a better place to live and establish priority municipal actions for the next 10 years," explains Gonzalez, who recalls that with this project can hope to have European economic aid That allow to realize all that is proposed.
