The athlete Torreño Angel Salinas was proclaimed yesterday Saturday 12 of March champion of Spain of veterans in the test of 400 meters smooth in its category M60 (majors of 60 years).
Salinas won this title in the national indoor track championship played at the 'Gallur' Sports Center in Madrid, a date in which not satisfied with that gold has added two other medals: silver in 200 meters smooth and bronze in 60 meters smooth.
"These new medals have been achieved by Ángel in his favorite events and he adds to his extensive track record, which recently included three regional titles in the same events," explains Torreño Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez.
"He started late to compete, but he is proving to have a great spirit of sacrifice, a lot of talent and exemplary conditions, and we congratulate him for this new title," Pérez says.
Organized by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA), this championship has brought together 1,148 veteran athletes, 833 men and 315 women, who competed in categories from 35 to 90 years.
