The arquera Torreña Mónica Gómez, with only 9 years, is all a champion.
And is that despite his short age, his record holder treasures several titles, such as the one he recently achieved in Navaleno (Soria) in the Spanish Championship forest tour in 3D mode archery.
This is a modality that is practiced in natural areas outdoors and in which the participants shoot on three-dimensional volumetric targets.
"She is a great expert in these modalities category, since this same season won the regional championship of field disputed in the Castle of Lorca", says the Councilor of Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez.
"Mónica started to shoot with 7 years of age in the club 'Orión' of our municipality, happening later to the club 'Rincon del Águila' in which follows," explains Pérez, who remembers that in addition it has been territorial champion outdoors in 2015 and 2016 in its category, and field trips in 2016. "It draws with a Longbow bow and uses wooden arrows, in a really difficult modality as much for the absence of aids to aim as for the materials that is used", points .
Very active in competition
The turret participates in practically all the regional leagues (open air and room), but mainly in the one of routes 3D.
"As their titles both regional and national accredit this modality is given a thousand marvels," explains the mayor.
In addition, last year was second in the Championship of Spain 3D in the Longbow female category for under 14 years that was held in Aranjuez and has participated in this year's National League 3D with very good results.
"Monica tells us that her next objectives are to keep improving and, above all, to continue enjoying this sport," says Pérez.
