15 unemployed young people from Las Torres de Cotillas are trained to work in the cleaning sector with a Community program (13/09/2017)

This initiative has a grant from the SEF of 123,000 euros

15 young people from Las Torres de Cotillas who are beneficiaries of the Youth Guarantee program are being trained to work in the cleaning sector through a nine-month Community program.

This initiative, which combines training with paid work, has a grant of 123.00 euros from the Ministry of Employment, Universities and Enterprise, through the Regional Employment and Training Service, SEF, and with the co-financing of the European Social Fund.

In this way, these young people will be trained for about 1,800 hours, of which 300 will serve to complete the theoretical part and 1,500 for the completion of the practical phase, consisting of effective work.

Specifically, these 15 unemployed will be hired for six months by the City of this municipality to carry out cleaning and maintenance of streets and public spaces in the town.

Once completed the two phases that make up the program, students will obtain a professional certificate of cleanliness in open spaces and industrial facilities that, in addition to accrediting their competences in this professional branch, will allow them to work, for example, as road cleaning workers and pawns of waste collection, both in town halls and companies in the sector.

The director general of the SEF, Alejandro Zamora, who visited the participants of this program yesterday, together with the Mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Domingo Coronado, has put in value the utility of these programs, "since in addition to providing many young people the opportunity to learn a trade, facilitate the obtaining of a certificate of professionalism, an accreditation with validity throughout the national territory highly valued by companies.

Positive evolution of employment

Previously, Alejandro Zamora met with the Mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Domingo Coronado, to address other joint actions that serve to boost employment in the municipality.

In addition, during the meeting analyzed the positive evolution of employment in this municipality, where 176 people left unemployment in the last twelve months, which means a drop in unemployment of 9.37 percent.

With regard to job creation, the number of Social Security affiliates has increased by 39 people over the last twelve months, an increase of 1.26% and the number of affiliates in 3.126.
