Former Mayor Domingo Coronado will announce Holy Week, whose poster pays homage to Our Lady of Mercy (04/02/2018)

The Cabildo Superior de Cofradías of Las Torres de Cotillas officially presented on the night of Saturday, February 3, the poster for Holy Week 2018 of the municipality, which this year features the titular image of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Mercy ( organizer this year of the event and responsible for the design of the poster).

It was during a ceremony held in the Church of Our Lady of Salceda, which also made known officially that it will be the former mayor Domingo Coronado in charge of giving the proclamation on Saturday March 17 (20'30 hours ) in the same Church.

An evening attended by the mayor Torrena Isabel María Zapata and in which there were also two more presentations: the poster of the children's procession, which this year celebrates its second edition after the resounding success of last year, and the 'Nazarene of the Year ', which in this edition will be Antonio Hernández, who has been recognized for his special dedication to Torrena Holy Week in all aspects.

Also, the members of the local theater group 'Tejuba' were protagonists twice: on the one hand, one of its small members recited a poem by Lope de Vega;

and, on the other, they represented, as is tradition, a scene from the sacramental car of 'El Prendimiento'.

The act also counted on the performance of the quintet of metals and percussion 'Qunba', that offered a representative sample of its repertoire.

Honey for Holy Week

Coronado has been chosen by the Cabildo with the absolute approval of all the brotherhoods of the municipality.

"Domingo has always shown his affection and affection for the Holy Week of our town and with this recognition we have wanted to give him back all the effort he has put into making it grow during his 14 years as mayor," explains the president of the Cabildo, José Sánchez.

Coronado's speech will serve as a prelude to the parades of passion in the town.

"The first date will be March 18 with the children's procession and on March 23, the traditional procession will begin, with the procession of Friday of Dolores," says Sanchez.
