The body of Civil Protection of Las Torres de Cotillas concluded a few days ago the process of training in the use of semiautomatic defibrillators (DESA) aimed at the members of the staff of the Local Police.
"In this course have trained both agents and staff of management and administration, meeting the 12 hours indicated by the regional community regulations on the use of DESA by non-medical personnel", explains the councilor for Police, Civil Protection, Proposals and Defense of the Citizen, Gloria Fernández, who highlights the usefulness of this knowledge because "the local police are the first body to go to almost all the emergencies of our population."
"During the training the participants learned basic life support techniques and the use of DESA in emergencies that present a cardiorespiratory arrest in victims for whom a rapid intervention is extremely important," says the person in charge of Civil Protection, Manuel Fernández.
Other courses
This is not the first course that Civil Protection imparts in the municipality on the use of DESA.
"Other training activities have been held, all free of charge, aimed at the sports monitors of both the Department of Physical Activity and Sports and the clubs and associations of the town," the mayor points out.
In addition, other courses are already planned for the rest of municipal employees who are interested in learning these techniques and obtain the corresponding accreditation from the Ministry of Health that is granted at the end of this training.
