The students of Secondary, Baccalaureate and Formative Cycles of the educational centers of Las Torres de Cotillas have voted today, Wednesday, February 14 to choose the proposals that will be implemented within the framework of the participatory budgets for the 2018 and 2019 annuities. "Han 46 were the proposals that have passed the technical filter, since among other aspects it was requested that the projects could be carried out in 2018-19, that were of general interest, of municipal competence, viable and technically legal and that were in the economic frameworks established ", explains the mayor Isabel María Zapata, who has moved to the IES 'Salvador Sandoval' to chat with the students of the center while voting.

Among the proposals you can find different training activities, such as courses (photography, painting, computers, theater, sex education ...) or workshops (free time, manga comic ...).

Greater transparency and efficiency

Hand in hand with the Council of Transparency of the Region of Murcia - with its president, José Molina, at the head - and the University of Murcia, this campaign of participatory budgeting has focused on schools in the municipality and will count each annuity with a game of 15,000 euros.

"The participatory budgets have to give greater transparency and efficiency even to our management of public resources," says the councilor of Finance, Angel Gonzalez, who notes that this follows the path established by the strategy 'The Towers 2025 Come and Stay' "This initiative collected ideas and proposals from citizens, concessionary companies, businessmen, merchants, cultural, political and social agents of the municipality for months," says González, who stresses that "it was a very enriching process".
