The Association of Families and Mental Illness of Murcia (AFES) held on Wednesday 11 April the 'International Day of Sport for Development and Peace', in a day that has had nearly 200 attendees throughout the entire tomorrow at the Las Torres de Cotillas municipal sports center.
In collaboration with the Department of Physical Activity and Sports, he has first held a yoga workshop.
The participants - among those who had AFES users and a large representation of the local women's association 'Isabel González' - have dropped to the floor on their mats and have enjoyed the different exercises proposed.
The morning has been completed with a healthy lunch and a fun dance workshop, in which the TAFAD students of the IES 'Salvador Sandoval' of the municipality have collaborated.
"It has been a real success, all the participants have really enjoyed the sum of sport and conviviality, and they have told us that they will be happy to repeat", explains the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports Ginés Pérez.
Since 1980
AFES is an entity created in 1980 that works to improve the quality of life of people with mental illness and their families.
Las Torres de Cotillas has a day center, which has a capacity of 45 accredited places and 19 arranged with the Murcian Institute of Social Action (IMAS), and a residence with 20 places arranged with the IMAS.
In addition, it has another day center in Murcia with a capacity for 159 people.
