The Governing Council has approved a grant of 527,395 euros to offer 45 places in day center aimed at people with mental illness in the municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas.

The purpose of the Health and Social Policy is to further develop the Law 39/2006, of 14 December, on personal autonomy and care for people in situations of dependency, to ensure comprehensive care to those suffering from mental illness and promote social integration and personal autonomy.

The Instituto Murciano Social Action in the region serving a total of 685 people with mental illness through its network of day care centers, nursing homes and sheltered housing.
