The mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Isabel María Zapata visited on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 20, the users of the municipal program of adapted sport that is taught in the pools of the 'State Sport Group Las Torres'.
A proposal addressed to the group that presents some type of disability, specifically for users of the local associations 'Puro Corazón' and 'Sherezade Color Esperanza', which serve people with functional diversity.
"The program consists of several weekly sessions of hydrotherapy throughout the year, with specialized monitors that work with small groups attending to their needs and taking advantage of the physical properties of the water that provide numerous benefits to the rehabilitation therapeutic process", explains Zapata, who was accompanied by the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez, and the Councilor for Social Services, María Dolores Sánchez.
"Water makes it easier to move and reduce the impact on the joints, thus achieving a physical and mental relaxation, and improving the physical condition, health and, by extension, the quality of life of users," says Pérez.
Fully subsidized
"This program has been developed in recent years in the municipality, this season being an activity subsidized entirely by the City," says Sanchez.
The presidents of 'Puro Corazón, María Ángeles Suárez, of' Sherezade Color Esperanza ', Magdalena López, as well as the relatives of the users of the program thanked the City Council for their support and showed their satisfaction for the improvements and well-being of its participants, both physical level as psychosocial.
