The Cabildo Superior de Cofradías of Las Torres de Cotillas already has a new board of directors, which will be chaired by the historian, communicator and teacher Juan José Ruiz.
His election was supported by the majority of the Brotherhoods that are part of the aforementioned Cabildo, which next year will celebrate its golden wedding with a varied program of events.
"We want to continue working in the same line, involving the younger generations in particular and the Torrena society in general in an active participation," says Ruiz, who cites among other challenges the distinction of excellence as a Festival of Tourist Interest of Holy Week, as well as the declaration of Cultural Good of the permanent exhibition of the dioramas of the Passion of Christ.
Wide board
In his meeting Ruiz will be accompanied by Ángeles Sola (vice president), Francisco José Torres (secretary), Francisco José González (vice secretary), José Ángel Sánchez treasurer) and as born vowels by the presidents of his eight Brotherhoods: Alfonso Sandoval (Our Father Jesus Nazareno and Santo Entierro de Cristo), Consuelo Sandoval (San Juan Evangelista), Domingo Cava (Our Lady of Sorrows), Joaquín Ruiz (Holy Woman Veronica and Holy Christ of the Fall), José Vicente Bellver (Holy Christ Crucified), Consuelo González (Santísimo Cristo Resucitado and San Pedro), Francisco Mateo (La Piedad) and Juan José García (Santísimo Cristo de la Flagelación).
"We want to have the great cofrade family, with each and every one of the presidents and directors of the fraternities, to continue giving value to the Torrena Holy Week, which dates back to the 17th century," explains the new president.
