The City of Las Torres de Cotillas is putting all means at their disposal to try to solve the problems of vandalism that affect the IES 'La Florida', located in the neighborhood of Carmen in the municipality.
In addition to reinforcing the police presence in the area to stop the breakage of windows in the center and the throwing of objects and garbage inside, the intention of the Torreño Consistory is to have elements that allow greater control of the environment.
"From the Department of Public Safety has been requested twice by the government delegation authorization to install two security cameras with which to have permanently controlled the surroundings of the institute, but for now they have not allowed us to put them," says the mayor, Isabel María Zapata.
Investment of 2,000 euros
And, given the complaints received for these criminal activities, Torreño City Council went to work and requested the installation of these cameras, whose purchase-installation included-had a municipal investment of nearly 2,000 euros.
The first was denied, while the second has not yet received a response after being registered on July 23.
"In these requests were attached photographs of the results of the incivilities perpetrated, indicated the places of placement of the cameras and transferred the discomfort of the management of the center in this situation," says Councilor for Education, Pedro Cabrera.
"We urge urgency to have a positive response that offers us tools with which to put an end to these acts of vandalism, which are undesirable for everyone and which we firmly condemn from the City Council," Zapata claims.
