The members of the 'Badminton Las Torres' club have won five medals in the seventh edition of the 'European Games of Police and Firemen', held a few days ago in Algeciras.
"Our representatives have stood out especially in the male category of over 40 years", explains the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Ginés Pérez, who recalls that in veterans the Torreño club is a benchmark nationwide.
Thus, in individual Manuel Berrocal was gold and Antonio Brao silver, while in doubles both were champions, with Cándido Osorio hanging a silver with his German teammate.
"We are very proud of our countrymen, for demonstrating their sporting value and walking the name of Las Torres de Cotillas in such an important sporting event with such good results", points out the mayor, Isabel María Zapata.
Some games that brought together in the Andalusian town some 4,000 participants from more than 30 countries, in sports such as athletics, swimming, cycling, tennis, judo, basketball, etc.
