The musicians torreños Fran Tortosa, Sara Esturillo and Patricio Belda starred this past weekend two concerts at the House of Culture 'Pedro Serna' Las Torres de Cotillas, which had free admission.
The young Torreño soloists offered their performances on the afternoon of Saturday 29 and the morning of Sunday September 30, in a free admission activities organized by the Department of Culture.
"Fran is a percussionist and currently completes his training at the Conservatory of Music of Murcia, while Sara Esturillo is considered one of the young promises of the harp in Spain," says Councilman for Culture, Pedro Cabrera.
"For his part, Patricio Belda is a saxophonist and is studying higher music education in one of the most demanded conservatories in the country in his specialty, Castilla La Mancha," says the mayor.
700th anniversary
Some performances in which you could hear classical pieces by well-known authors such as Bach, Mozart or Haendel, or others not so popular, but which delighted the audience.
These concerts were held within the framework of activities proposed by the Torreño City Council to commemorate the 700th anniversary as mayorazgo of Las Torres de Cotillas.
"This celebration has the motto '1318-2018, from Qutiyyas to Las Torres de Cotillas' and has various activities that have already begun and will arrive until the end of the year," explains the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, who cites concerts including the local music band, conferences and publications on local history, twinning, exhibitions of Torreño artists, etc.
