The march against gender violence in Las Torres de Cotillas gathers more than 500 people and collects about 1,300 euros (25/11/2018)

Today, November 25, the "International Day Against Gender Violence" is commemorated and the Council of Equality of Las Torres de Cotillas has celebrated this morning the fourth edition of its' March Against Gender Violence.

Skate or walk, but ... move! '

"Nearly 500 people of all ages, including children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, including entire families, have taken part in a tour of the municipality both on foot and on skates," says the mayor, Isabel María Zapata, who she has participated accompanied by the councilor of the area, María Dolores Sánchez.

Between the numbers of the participants plus those purchased through row zero it has been possible to collect about 1,300 euros, which will go to the Association for the Prevention, Reintegration and Attention to Prostituted Women (APRAMP).

In addition, the day has had children's games, dances and raffles of various gifts donated by employees.

Other activities

Within the program of activities of the Department of Equality to commemorate this date, the House of Culture 'Pedro Serna' was the scene on the afternoon of Saturday, November 24, a forum against gender violence.

This appointment, inaugurated by the mayor, had two presentations: the first, given by Nani Manzanares, coordinator of APRAMP in Murcia, was entitled 'Comprehensive care to victims of trafficking';

the second one featured as speakers with the social worker María José Garrido and the psychologist Fatima Vera and focused on the 'Comprehensive care for women victims of aggression and / or sexual abuse'.

A multidisciplinary exhibition is also being held at the Center for Young Artists, which concludes today on Sunday and in which 18 artists from Murcia participate: Alexandra Cossins, Anabel del Canto, Anabel del Cerro, Kisses on Paper (Fuensanta), Carolina Illán, David Vicente From the Stars, Guillermina de la Rosa, Ignacio Garcia, Laura Abellán, Lucas Brox, Manzanares, Maribel, Nadia Miglionico, Paloma Navarro, Rosa, Rosa Ana Madrid (Títi) and Sonia Ramírez.

"The objective of this exhibition is to raise awareness and raise awareness about the problem of gender violence, presenting all kinds of works that propose different points of view on this situation," the mayor reports.
