The ballroom, regional and choir dances are the activities most demanded by the senior citizens of the Social Center of the municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas, dependent on the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS).
The Counselor of Family and Equality of Opportunities, Violante Tomás, visited the center that has more than 4,900 members and where 29 workshops are held focused on the health of body and mind.
"Social centers are essential to improve the quality of life and promote social relations," said the minister, adding that "the many activities that are carried out also increase the autonomy of older people and allow them to stay in their environment."
The Social Center for the Elderly of Las Torres de Cotillas is open every day of the week and it is carried out from yoga or pilates workshops, to reading-writing or basic English.
