Taking advantage of the fact that the update of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS) is currently working, the City of Las Torres de Cotillas has decidedly decided to know the values â€‹â€‹of one of the most harmful pollutants that exist: noise.
"It is identified as one of the urban agents that most affects health and our municipality does not escape its effects," said the mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández, who explains that the elaboration of the noise map of the city has already begun. municipality.
"Its objective is to characterize the different streets to know the noise levels they support and their evolution throughout the day," he says.
During the next weeks the noise levels existing in the municipality will be taken, parameterizing the main existing focus that is the traffic.
"The data collection will be carried out in the different time zones established by the legislation, which are daytime, evening and nighttime," says the Councilor for the Environment, Francisco Fernández Baño, who reports that acoustic measurements will be taken to also obtain the capacity of the vehicles that circulate around the town, differentiating between light and heavy vehicles.
Once the information is obtained and using a predictive software, an integration of all the data on the municipal cartography will be carried out, thus obtaining the aforementioned Noise Map.
"The results will be made available to society through public information so that citizen input is an important factor in this project and helps make Las Torres de Cotillas a more sustainable and, above all, less noisy municipality," says the mayor. torreño.
