When preparing the Budgets of the City Council of Las Torres de Cotillas for the next year 2020, the Municipal Intervention and the Department of Economy and Finance have found a serious anomaly in the current year 2019, prepared and approved by the previous Corporation.
The breach of the Expenditure Rule has been revealed in the next settlement of the current Fiscal Year, said circumstance being communicated to the Ministry of Finance.
This breach is mainly due to placing, in the budgets prepared previously, an amount corresponding to expenses above the allowed reference limit, in an amount greater than one million euros, and close to 10 percent of the budget.
This faulty management, the responsibility of the outgoing team of the Popular Party, approving in the electoral year a budget increase of more than 12 percent and violating the stability rules, requires by Law the establishment of an Economic Financial Plan.
Despite the difficulties encountered, the current government team of PSOE and Citizens presents a balanced budget, serious and adjusted to the municipal economic reality.
In any case, signed contracts and services to neighbors are respected, especially those related to Safety, Road Cleaning, Social Services, Education, Health Promotion and Sports.
Likewise, it is intended to promote cultural work throughout the municipal area.
In any case, and on its own initiative, the government team acquires the commitment to allocate 200,000 euros for investments chosen by the neighbors through citizen participation.
The co-financing of the part corresponding to the City Council for the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI) is also guaranteed.
Notwithstanding the Financial Economic Plan, the government team maintains the commitments acquired with the citizens and that configure its action plan for this legislature, which we expect to fully comply with.
We assume with responsibility the task entrusted by the neighbors of Las Torres de Cotillas.
Rationality in spending and the optimization of human and financial resources are the fundamental premise because - and that is the spirit of our management - we know that they belong to everyone, and manage everyone's, not as if it were their own, but even with more seriousness and efficiency, should be the norm of any public office.
