The mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Joaquín Vela Fernández, offered on Monday afternoon, November 25, an official reception in the City Council to the Amazon Torreña Patricia Rodríguez Ruiz.
The first mayor wanted to congratulate in person -and on behalf of the entire municipality- the young athlete, who this year has been proclaimed champion of Spain of dressage of ponies and attended accompanied by his family and his coach, Paco Ríos.
The event was also attended by the Councilor for Health and Sport, Alberta Vázquez Martínez, and the Councilor for Education, Rafael Martínez García.
âIt is to admire the effort of both Patricia and her family to reach such outstanding successes that fill the entire town of Las Torres de Cotillas with happiness and pride.
Talent and ability in sport are very important, but without sacrifice, dedication and day-to-day work there is no reward, âexplains the mayor, who also wanted to highlight the professionalism of his coach.
On the back of Casper, Patricia revalidated her national title in the championship held in Segovia at the end of last June.
Once the season is over and after participating in the last Spanish championship of minors played in September in Segovia, where both horses and ponies competed, the young Amazon Torreña looks to the next campaign with optimism.
