This year marks the eleventh edition of the school exchange program between the IES Salvador Sandoval of Las Torres de Cotillas and the Lycée Albert Camus de Firminy, a French population located in the Rhone-Alpes region that has about 20,000 inhabitants.
During these days a gala expedition is located in torreñas lands to enjoy another year of this relationship, so solid that in 2018 both municipalities proceeded to twinning.
Today, Monday, February 17, the 26 French students have been received at the Torreño City Council by the mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández, and the Councilor for Education, Rafael Martínez García.
"The young Gauls, accompanied by their three teachers, will be in our town until February 20 and during these days they will take the opportunity to visit other cities, such as Orihuela, Murcia, Cieza or Cartagena," explains the mayor.
"This exchange program of the European Comenius project is for schoolchildren to learn languages, enjoy new experiences in new places for them and make friends that will be for a lifetime," said the mayor.
