The Department of Public Safety and Civil Protection of Las Torres de Cotillas has initiated a new edition of the road education campaign, in which all the schools and institutes of the municipality participate.
This initiative, under the motto For your safety, has one more year with the collaboration of the Local Police and the Civil Protection Corps.
"It is a fun way to learn the rules of traffic. If from a very young age we instill in our neighbors the importance of complying with them, we will have safer traffic for everyone," said Mayor Joaquín Vela Fernández.
The theory is taught in the centers themselves and practices, as in previous years, will be carried out in the traffic park located on the track of the municipal sports center.
"This year we incorporate into practice the material that the City Council has acquired, such as traffic signs, traffic lights and 4-wheeled pedal vehicles," said Councilman Francisco José Caravaca Bravo, who recalls that this campaign also has a drawing contest .
This year, 5-year-old Infant, 2nd, 4th and 6th grade students and 2nd High School students participate in this initiative.
"In total there will be about 1,000 schoolchildren, because after Holy Week we will also hold a session in nursery schools," says the mayor.
The closing ceremony will be on March 26 at the sports center itself and it will deliver their diplomas to the participants and an exhibition will be held.
