| The celebrations in honor of the Virgen de la Salceda should have been held next August | The City Council of Las Torres de Cotillas approved yesterday in the municipal hall to suspend the celebration of this year's edition of the town's patron saint festivities, which would be held in August in honor of the Virgen de la Salceda.
"It is the most responsible decision because we cannot assure that our neighbors enjoy some celebrations as they deserve with all the sanitary guarantees," explains the Councilor for Celebrations, Francisco José Caravaca Bravo. A suspension that was also extended to this year's festivities in the Torrena districts and which had the votes in favor of the municipal government team and the abstention of opposition groups.
"It is a complicated decision, very hard to make, because we all deserve those days of celebration and conviviality, but the health of our neighbors is above any other consideration," emphasizes the Torreño mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández.
