| The local City Council has launched this initiative coinciding with the celebration of LGBTI Pride Day | The municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas will show its most inclusive side with an action by the local City Council designed against sexual discrimination and integration.
Coinciding with the celebration of LGBTI pride day today, June 28, a project has been launched that will paint banks in public spaces and signs in various parts of the municipality with the rainbow flag, which identifies lesbians, gays, transsexuals and bisexuals .
"They are emblems with which we want to show all our respect and support for these groups, which unfortunately still suffer discrimination today," reports the Mayor of Torreño, Joaquín Vela Fernández. These symbols have been installed both in the town center of the municipality and in its districts.
"From public bodies we must work to guarantee society comprehensive protection against LGTBIphobia and discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity or expression and sexual characteristics," says the mayor.
