"As every year at this time the trees of the municipality require these works, which are carried out in the alignment of trees and palm trees as in parks and gardens," explains the councilor and first deputy mayor, Marian Fernández Fernández.The team that carries out the work - in which the municipal street cleaning collection service company also participates - has a lifting platform, a truck for transporting plant debris, and auxiliary equipment, such as hedge cutters, chainsaws and blowers for subsequent cleaning.
These prunings are carried out in three aspects - training, conservation and maintenance, and safety - and one of its main objectives is to favor the transit of pedestrians on the sidewalks.In addition, branches that may hinder vertical traffic signaling or cover streetlights and balconies on facades are eliminated.
"At this time of year, these works also reinforce another very important aspect for the quality of life of our neighbors: cleaning the streets," says the mayor, Joaquín Vela Fernández.
