Education begins the expansion works of the San José de Las Torres de Cotillas school (13/10/2020)

| The Ministry allocates more than one million euros to create new spaces for Infant and Primary that will have classrooms, library, rooms and patio areas | The Ministry of Education and Culture, through the General Directorate of Educational Centers and Infrastructures, began at the end of September the expansion works of the San José public school, in Las Torres de Cotillas.

The expansion project, which has a budget of 1,214,613 euros co-financed with Feder funds, has a term to carry out the works of 12 months. The expansion consists of the creation of the necessary spaces to configure the center as a school with two complete lines.

Specifically, it is a space for the Early Childhood Education stage and another for Primary Education.

In the case of the Infantile, it will have two classrooms with adapted toilets, a multipurpose classroom, additional toilets for the center, adaptation of 600 square meters of patio and a porch of 75 square meters. The space for Primary will have four classrooms, a pencil case, a music room, a library, four support classrooms and two classrooms for technical support staff.

Likewise, it will have two physiotherapy rooms, an office for the AMPA, patio toilets, a warehouse and a 15-square-meter porch, as well as the adaptation of the Primary school yard and 800-square-meter sports court. The Minister of Education and Culture, Esperanza Moreno, visited the center this morning to see first-hand the development of the works and stressed that this project "is already a reality and comes to provide the school with greater and better infrastructure, necessary for the good development of the work of the entire educational community ". The San José educational center has about 500 enrolled students and, currently, it has separate Primary Education cycles, so some students who use dining rooms must be accompanied by monitors to the old center daily, something that with the new works will not be necessary.
