An online review of local history with Ricardo Montes, official chronicler of the municipality (11/11/2020)

| Yesterday, Tuesday, November 10, this conference was broadcast by 'streaming' aimed at schoolchildren in 3rd and 4th grade of ESO from five centers in the town | The official chronicler of Las Torres de Cotillas, Ricardo Montes, offered an online conference on the history and customs of the town yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, November 10.

This talk, presented by Onda 92 journalist José Antonio Sánchez and available at https://youtu.be/nqTnuTEdi1g, was aimed mainly at 3rd and 4th ESO students from a total of five centers: IES La Florida and Salvador Sandoval, and the Susarte, Divino Maestro and Monteazahar schools. Montes, doctor in Archeology and Ancient History, focused on specific aspects of the history of the municipality, from its foundation in 1318, in Qutiyyas la Antigua -now the San Pedro neighborhood-, to its transfer to the place it currently occupies.

Other topics he discussed were the importance of growing the vine for wine, religious aspects, families linked to the town, such as the Marquis of Corvera or the D'Estoup family, independence, education ... "It was a very interesting talk to learn about the origins of our town, where we come from, what has been relevant in our history ...", says the Councilor for Education, Rafael Martínez García, whose area organized the talk in collaboration with the centers.

"In addition, being by 'streaming' has allowed us to do it without any health risk and also remains on the municipal YouTube channel and can be viewed by anyone," he says.
