It has already started in Las Torres de Cotillas a new edition of the campaign to prevent breast cancer, mammograms during which made a total of 1,662 women aged between 50 and 69 years.
Organized by the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with one more year of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), the local council and health centers, will conclude on May 11.
"This program of prevention of breast cancer started in our town in 1996 and its main objectives are to reduce mortality from this disease and increase the quality of life of sufferers," says Councillor for Health, Inmaculada Fernandez, who notes that all patients have been cited by letter.
Tests are being carried out in the mobile unit located opposite the old town hall, which was visited Tuesday April 19 by the first deputy mayor, Angel Gonzalez and Fernandez itself.
A campaign in Las Torres de Cotillas has a high commitment by patients, since the rate of participation in the municipality during the biennium 2013-2014 was 74%, while in the Murcia region was 70% .
