Interview with Juan Antonio Beltran, "Loquillo" harbinger of the 2016 festivities of Torres de Cotillas (15/08/2016)

What you supposed to have been appointed a preacher?

For me it was a very big surprise, did not expect in my life that 25,000 people were to choose me as a preacher.

In fact it will be the first time I'm going to cry of our Party, ha ha ha!

In the village you see as a popular person, a great storyteller, lover of cars and classic motorcycles.

How would you describe yourself ?

All that is true, but I'm also very fond of the 80, the roll that had at that time, it will be by age .... I was the first rockabilly of the people!

And? Look to leave in 1984 with shoulder straps and a toupee was being brave because everyone was watching.

I like music, I consider myself a good person, a friend of my friends, I know all the people and all get along.

But I am also very independent, I enjoy my solitude, as when I travel by motorcycle or drive the 127 that I inherited from my father.

He has also won fame with his reflections on the Facebook group "You are not the Torres de Cotillas if no" and its neighbors have mobilized to elect him by popular acclamation crier ...

And I thank you.

I do not think so because of the impact it has had.

I have chosen 8 months before the opening speech and everyday congratulate me and ask me if I have made the opening speech and what I will say at the doctor, at the supermarket, on the street, in the bar ... I am very grateful no, the following is a compliment and love.

What aspects would like to emphasize in his opening speech?

I will speak of the Festival of the 70s and 80s, in which the streets of a special maner were settled and brought to our people the best performances: Victor Manuel and Ana Belen, Mecano, Tino Casal, Mari Trini ... when the bars also drew the bars on the street and, of course, I will rescue some of the stories I've told our Facebook group.

And the rest, people come and see.

It is very popular for its local, the pub "A bite".

How has life changed Towers Cotillas in recent years?

I took 21 years and have seen it change Torrena quite moved.

Have closed a lot of cafes, I have seen several generations and at this time we have kept a few.

Of the remaining from before my bar is a classic that people come from many surrounding villages and continue to stay with the concerts.

There began the M-Clan when they were not famous and has passed Funambulista people like Victor Coyote, drummer of The Ronaldos, etc.

Is there a story that fits you tell?

My father has always made the fiestas de La Cruz, which are the oldest in the town, and in my house have lived fully.

I was terrified rockets and when the van came the Cañete brothers who brought sacks of rocket I began to mourn and run.

How they have changed parties since childhood?

They have had a very abrupt change, from musical performances to the floats, which were of papier mache and went with bands and now go with cars with loudspeakers.

Also people sorely missed when the bars of the bars were taken out into the street, because it gave more life to the holidays.

In addition to the proclamation, what act of the parties expect with more enthusiasm?

I really like the concerts of Spanish groups and floats always see from "La Parranda".

The evening events can not see them because I'm working, so in the last 20 years I have lost a large part of the Festival.

But I really like the atmosphere of those days, where people take to the streets, eager to have fun and night quite encouraging ... which comes not bad, ha ha ha!
