The municipal plenary of the City Council of Las Torres de Cotillas approved last Monday, February 27, to suspend the application of the ordinance regulating the tax on the increase of the value of land of urban nature, the known surplus value.

And is that after the recent ruling of the Constitutional Court - which has partially estimated the unconstitutionality of the tax on the increase in the value of urban land in the historic territory of Guipúzco - doubts have grown around this tax measure.

"What is declared unconstitutional is not the tribute, but the formula for its calculation, and we will not apply it until its situation is definitively clarified," says Coronado, who recalls that the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) has already Requested the central government to modify this tax because it has a liquidation situation on prices that do not respond to the market.

"We believe that this tax is unfair and we will work to make it fit the current reality," says the mayor, who stresses that "the City Council will always be on the side of the citizen and this is a situation that must be resolved fairly For taxpayers. "
