Interview with maria dolores molina, preacher of the holy week 2017 of the towers of gossip (06/03/2017)

What has meant to you to be chosen to proclaim the Easter of the Torres de Cotillas?

When I was informed that I was going to be the preacher of Holy Week in our town, I felt a great emotion and a great honor that I thought I did not deserve.

At the same time it was an enormous responsibility that I did not know at the time how I was going to face, but I was so delighted that I gladly accepted all the love in the world and I am very grateful that they have trusted me.

What aspects would you like to highlight in your proclamation?

The proclamation is the act that announces and proclaims the greatest and most beautiful week of the liturgical year.

That day I will mention, God willing, his actions and how I have lived and live with my family and how I transmit it to my children.

Also this year, for the first time, the children's procession begins here in Las Torres, a fact that I think is going to be beautiful for children and it is important that from their infancy they are instilled with social, religious, cultural and traditional values.

Since when is it related to Easter and in what way?

From childhood I accompanied my mother to the liturgical acts of Holy Week.

After a young man I met my husband, Ramon, who belonged to the Brotherhood of the Holy Woman Veronica and the Holy Christ of the Fall, and it was then that his president, Joaquin, joined me as a brother-in-law.

This is 22 years ago and in all of them I participated in the processions of Holy Week, except for two: one when my father died and the other when I was pregnant with my daughter.

What is your favorite moment of these celebrations?

There are many special moments during these celebrations, such as when we dress the images and arrange the thrones in the brotherhood, or when we hear the first drums and you enter the body a great emotion, or when in a hurry we dress the four at home, robes , Layers, strings, etc ... But the moment that for me concentrates more feelings of devotion and joy is when I see the thrones leave the church.

At that moment you look at the images and it seems that they want to tell you with their faces what they feel and I shrink my heart with a great emotion.

How have these Festivals changed since childhood?

When you are a child you live things in a way within your still immaturity and innocence.

From the time you hear the first drums you go out to the street like all children with that illusion of candy and party, but as you grow older and acquire other types of knowledge and experiences you see things differently and you live Holy Week with more passion, Devotion and faith, knowing and valuing each moment of the week with what it represents.

If I had to choose a day of Holy Week, what would it be?

Every day they are beautiful and they concentrate great feelings, but the day that has a special meaning for me is Good Friday morning in the procession of Calvary.

When the first rays of sun come out of the spring morning and illuminate the images that the costaleros fondly carry on their shoulders, the Nazarenes in their ranks prepare to parade through the streets and show the whole town that path of Calvary that Jesus lived .

When Christ struck by weariness falls and a woman, Veronica, with her dismay wears a cloth wiping the face of Jesus.

Those are the images that our Brotherhood brings out in this procession and for me they have a special meaning.

What has our Easter that is not somewhere else?

What would stand out?

In Semana Santa there is a lot of participation on the part of the families of the town, which are distributed among the different brotherhoods.

There is a great brotherhood and the processions are really beautiful, with precious thrones and images of very prestigious sculptors.

Here in Las Torres, in addition, the Brotherhoods go out to the streets in several processions throughout the week and in other places this is not so, they usually parade each Brotherhood one day.

This makes Easter Week in Las Torres de Cotillas even more, because their Nazarenes - despite having their sore shoulders or tired feet of previous days - continue day after day dressed in their robes and with all the illusion and affection of the world for To get their thrones perfectly arranged to the street.

Each year they strive and work to make everything better.

What do you remember most fondly of all the Holy Week that you have lived in the municipality?

All the Holy Weeks that I have lived have given me dear and beautiful memories, but they have become truly special since my sons, Jaime and Angela were born.

For that participation and union that brings us, because you see that each year they put more enthusiasm and enthusiasm and makes us live more intensely.
