The City Council of Las Torres de Cotillas has recently concluded a new edition of the campaign to prevent drug dependence and alcohol consumption among young people, in which more than a hundred schoolchildren from the municipality have participated.
On the one hand, 30 CEIPS 'Susarte' schoolchildren and 25 CEIPS 'Monteazahar' students participated in the 'Argos-Community Project', a program of the Ministry of Health and Social Policy in collaboration with the municipalities of Murcia, educational centers and health centers .
This initiative works with the students of 1st of ESO, who participate in didactic sessions together with their tutors and one of which is carried out in the Health Center of Las Torres de Cotillas taught by its head of Nursing, Manuel García.
"This program aims to prevent the problem of alcohol consumption from an integral perspective involving professionals from different areas of primary care and young people," explains Councilor for Health, Inmaculada Fernández.
For Professional Training
The 'Puzzles' prevention program, coordinated by the 'Proyecto Hombre' Foundation, has also been developed and aimed at tutors and students of 1st and 2nd Basic Vocational Training.
This program aims to improve the personal competence of adolescents through learning disabilities, promoting healthy behaviors.
"About 60 students from the IES 'Salvador Sandoval' and from the 'Nuestra Señora de la Salceda' FP center participated," said the mayor.
These programs are co-financed by the grants of the 'Foundation for Health Training and Research' of the Region of Murcia and the City of Las Torres de Cotillas.
