Torreño Town Hall will once again present its EDUSI to the aid of ERDF funds (14/07/2017)

The City Council of Las Torres de Cotillas will again present the project for its Integrated Sustainable Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI) "Las Torres Conecta" to the aid called by the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration with FEDER funds.

After presenting itself in the previous edition for the first time and being only behind Murcia, the Torreño project will again qualify for this important subsidy, which will be added to a municipal contribution, whose destination will be various improvement projects in the locality.

Therefore, on Thursday, July 13, the results of the previous call for municipal workers were presented, who were thanked for their contribution and informed that their contribution will continue to be needed to update and enrich the project.

EDUSI, which was approved last December by the municipal council with the only votes against Cambio Las Torres, is a project that is born out of the participation of various associations and groups in the municipality.

For months they have contributed their ideas and opinions for the improvement of the locality, to transform a line of work in four main axes: to improve the use and quality of the TIC, to favor the transition to a low carbon economy, to protect the environment and Promote resource efficiency, and social inclusion and fight against poverty.

Four lines of work

For the line of improvement of the use and quality of the ICT, a budget of 700,000 euros is foreseen and will involve the improvement of electronic administration, the development of actions to catalog the city as "Smart City" and of mobile applications and services that allow the Participation and interaction between citizens and the City Council.

For its part, the commitment to a low-carbon economy will count on a total of 1,800,000 euros and will focus on the development of sustainable urban mobility and connection with industrial areas, and the promotion of the use of renewable energy in buildings and municipal vehicles .

In order to protect the environment and promote resource efficiency, the budget is 2,150,000.

This section highlights the proposal to move the antenna of Radio Nacional de España (RNE) from its current location in the Emisora ​​Park to an area outside the town.

Finally, a budget of 1,600,000 euros will support the chapter on social inclusion and fight against poverty, which highlights the project of creating a multi-purpose intergenerational social center, the implementation of a social integration plan of Families in vulnerable situations, regeneration of degraded areas and improved access to employment of disadvantaged groups.
