The 'Tejuba' will represent his 'Tenorio' in the awards ceremony of the 'VI Amateur Theater National Competition Juan Baño' (10/11/2017)

The 'VI National Amateur Theater Competition Juan Baño' of Las Torres de Cotillas will hold tomorrow morning, November 11 (21 hours), its closing evening, which will have free admission and will have two appointments: on the one hand, the awards ceremony of the best in the contest categories;

and, on the other hand, the representation - outside of competition - of the work 'Don Juan Tenorio' by the amateur theatrical company 'Tejuba' of the municipality.

This theatrical contest for amateur groups - organized by the Department of Culture and the group 'Tejuba' Torreño - will distribute about 2,000 euros in prizes, distributed as follows: 1,000 euros and trophy for the best show;

200 euros and trophy for the best actor and actress;

100 euros and trophy for the best address;

and 100 euros and trophy for the best actress and supporting actor.

"We are very happy with the level of the works presented, which have had an excellent reception from the public," says the mayor of Culture, Pedro Cabrera.

Four works in competition

Four have been the works in competition.

The event opened on Saturday, October 7, the group 'Taules Teatre' (Pinoso) with the play 'El eunuco', a comedy by the Roman dramatist Terencio, freely versioned to create a fun proposal with current dialogues, carefree, funny and very funny.

Then came the company 'Cinétika' (Mutxamel), which represented on Saturday October 14 'Bizarro game'.

The spectators could enjoy an exciting plot directed by Matilde Albert and Marco Gosálvez: three strangers are locked in a cabin away from civilization and each of them knows the reason why it is there, but not the other two.

The third work in competition was 'Casa de muñecas', with which the group from Granada 'Municipal theater workshop of Salobreña' represented on Saturday 21 October a version of the work of Henrik Ibsen that premiered in 1879. A montage of the considered as the first feminist theatrical work that he liked very much in the Torreño precinct, drawing the applause of the numerous attending public at various moments of the performance.

The fourth and last work in competition was staged by the 'Compañía Teatral En Construcción' (Elche Theater Company) on Saturday, October 28.

It was 'Siete critos en el mar', a story that takes place on an ocean liner bound for South America, where eight first-class passengers are invited to enjoy the Christmas Eve dinner at the captain's table.
