The process of citizen participation to choose the projects of the Plan of Works and Services 2018-19, about to conclude (02/04/2018)

The City of Las Torres de Cotillas is preparing the Municipal Works and Services Plan (POS) of the 2018-19 annuities and to choose the projects that will be executed, it wants to have the opinion of the citizens.

"The municipal technical area has selected a total of seven projects necessary for the municipality and we want our neighbors to select which ones will be carried out," explains Mayor Isabel María Zapata.

To this end, an online questionnaire has been created on the municipal website where this vote can be carried out (www.lastorresdecotillas.es/consulta-publica/).

"This questionnaire can be completed until 8 am on April 5," says Zapata.

The POS 2018-19 will have a minimum budget of more than 338,000 euros, to which the regional government will contribute about 322,000 euros and the City Council a minimum of 16,924 euros, which will vary according to the objectives chosen.

The proposed projects are as follows: renovation of sidewalks on Avenida de La Florida, from Calle Holanda to Avenida del Trabajo;

renovation of sidewalks on Reyes Católicos Avenue, from Calle Príncipe to Pablo Neruda;

renovation of infrastructures in Ángel Molina street;

renovation of infrastructures in Narciso Yepes Street, from Bolivia Street to Velázquez Street;

renovation of sidewalks and reinforcement of the streets of Santiago Apóstol, Andrea Doria, Julián Andúgar and Vicente Medina;

renovation of infrastructures in Jasmine and Tulipanes streets;

and firm reinforcement in the streets of Rioja, Cataluña, Andalucía and Asturias, and sidewalks in Juan Carlos I avenue.

Participatory line

This citizen consultation is added to others of this type made recently, such as the strategy 'Las Torres 2025 Come and Stay', the participatory budgets or the initiative to add contributions to the 'Plan of Action for Climate and Sustainable Energy' (PACES) .

"This strategy for the development of the municipality until 2025 takes into account aspects such as energy, the environment, mobility, social integration and citizen participation", points out Zapata, who also remembers that "about 600 students of Secondary, Baccalaureate and Training Cycles were in charge of allocating 15,000 euros for 2018 and 2019, thanks to their vote on participatory budgets ".

For its part, the PACES is the basis of the candidacy of Torreño City Council to join the 'Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy'.

An initiative that brings together thousands of local and regional authorities with the voluntary commitment to apply the climate and energy objectives of the European Union (EU) in their territories.
