Three archaeological sites Cotillas Towers, declared protected (28/07/2011)

Archaeological sites in the potter's field Cotillas of Cotillas and the district of San Pedro, located in Las Torres de Cotillas, have been declared protected and inventoried in the cultural heritage of the Region of Murcia by the Directorate General of Fine Arts and Cultural regional government.

Of these sites, the oldest prehistoric enclave is the potter's field, while the settlement houses Cotillas Roman remains (mainly hot springs and pottery such as amphorae) and most recently the site of the Barrio de San Pedro, belonging the Muslim period (traces of civil architecture and pottery also).

The location of the potter's field is situated on a promontory between the sites of Cañada de relishes and Porronero, about 2 miles west of the village, and treasure remnants of the prehistoric Neolithic period.
