The amateur theater group "Tejuba" of Las Torres de Cotillas dispensed on Saturday January 28 (20:30 pm) a tribute to the president of the club "L'Almazara" local, Francisco Garcia, and Huelva writer Carmen Montero, named "adopted sons" of the town last year.
The event will take place at the Casa de la Cultura "Pedro Serna" Torrena, free entry will be attended by the mayor and he Torrena, Domingo Coronado, and the councilman of Culture, José Joaquín licere.
During its course, the actors in the group "Tejuba" performed two sketches of the brothers Alvarez Quintero.
Adopted children
Francisco Garcia, aka "The Riso", became president of the rock Torrena "L'Almazara"-one of the most important cultural associations of the town, back in 1991 and continues to play the position to this day.
Carnival barker Torrena in 2008, was born in Molina de Segura, but is based in Las Torres de Cotillas, where he runs his company engaged in the production and distribution of salt throughout Spain.
And Montero Carmen Medina is very close to Las Torres de Cotillas, while a couple of years ago created the Foundation in the municipality "Carmen Montero Medina" (www.carmenmonteromedina.es), which aims to promote the works of this writer and to perform other acts always linked with the culture in general and in particular, with the literature without linguistic differentiations.
Born in Almonte (Huelva), his family moved to Catalonia, and she was still a teenager.
After living there for more than twenty years in Catalonia, he moved to Murcia where he became a member of the "Literary Association of the towers."
In 1992 he published his first book, which many others have followed the fruit of his fertile creative career.
