The Department of Social Policy and Immigration Cotillas Towers has initiated the "Alternatives to expulsion" in the Secondary School "Salvador Sandoval", through a grant from the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment regional government.
The objective of this initiative is prevention, monitoring and control of truancy among students at this educational center.
"This project is intended to prevent academic and social exclusion of students expelled," says the councilor of the area, Fine Almela, explaining that the project for the school will have the figure of a social educator in the days duration of the expulsion of students.
"Working with young people in the school itself aspects like social skills, conflict resolution, emotional communication, motivation for learning, involvement in maladaptive behaviors, and so on." Expands Almela.
Pioneering
This experience is the first time takes place in the municipality and has been welcomed by the school.
"We believe it can be very positive that students remain for their expulsion in the center and have the opportunity to learn skills and knowledge that will enable the integration and adaptation of teaching," says Councilwoman Torrena.
