The poet Salvador Sandoval will be the preacher of the Festivities torreñas (21/07/2012)

The popular poet and retired professor Salvador Sandoval (Cotillas Towers, 1928) will be once more a prophet in his land and on Saturday 18 August will be responsible with his proclamation to the official starting gun to the Festivities 2012 of Cotillas Towers.

Sandoval, Son of the Villa (2005), this distinction occurs in other characters in the arts Murcia as the painter Pedro Serna (2005) and the sculptor Mariano Gonzalez Beltran (2006).

Long career

Salvador Sandoval, professor and writer, is one of the most eminent figures of contemporary literature Murcia, emphasizing mainly in the field of poetry.

He studied Latin and Humanities at the Seminary of San Fulgencio de Murcia, and he studied in teacher working as a primary school teacher in Tarragona, Lerida, Lorca, Fortuna Cotillas Towers.

Served between 1985 and 1989 the office of Justice of the Peace in his hometown, where he was also for nearly 25 years regional correspondent for the newspaper "The Truth".

Sandoval began his work as a writer in the early 60's, attending numerous literary contests and getting numerous prestigious awards.

He is the author of the poems "Sonata in G Major" (1970), "go down the valley" (1972)-Award "Polo de Medina" awarded by the former Provincial Council of Murcia, "River Water" (1977), " and broom corn "(1989)-Award" Poetry Albacara "Caravaca de la Cruz," Autumn Sun "(1996) and" A World sealed "(2002).

But the literary creation of Salvador Sandoval is not limited only within poetic because it also has to his credit with the composition of five hymns to Marian titles and saints (Our Lady of Salceda, Patron of The Towers of Cotillas -1988 -, San Antonio and San Onofre -1989 - and -1993 Aparecida Our Lady of Rosary - Patron all of the Village of Alguazas, Our Lady of the Rosary, Patroness of Beniel -1989 -, and St. Vincent Martyr, Patron of Molina de Segura -1996 - .)
