Cotillas Towers celebrates another year the "World Day Against Gender Violence" (20/11/2012)

On Sunday November 25 marks another year the "World Day Against Gender Violence" and the Department of Equal Cotillas Towers has scheduled several events to commemorate this date.

So, on Tuesday November 20 Torrena area councilor, Gloria Fernandez, presented in the Meeting Room of City Hall these activities, which start today with the painting exhibition "Perspectives" by Carmen Maria Ortiz, who is active in the local council until next November 30 and has free admission.

Ortiz has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Granada and is currently Professor of Secondary.

The following proposal is a shiatsu workshop, taught by school Murcia "Shiatsu Levante" (created in 1998), to be held on Wednesday November 21 (16:30 pm) at the Women's Center located in the Park the Constitution.

This workshop, which offers free assistance, I intend to show students a healthy lifestyle by developing body awareness and inner balance.

In addition, Fernandez has used the press conference to take stock of activities of the Centre for Victims of Domestic Violence (CAVI), a service created in 2007 by the Institute for Women of the Region of Murcia in collaboration with the Councils of Region.

"So far this year, the CAVI has worked with 118 clients, 75% of Cotillas Towers and 25% of the neighboring municipalities, while 77% are Spanish versus 23% who are foreigners," says Councilwoman Torrena, recalling that this center manages prevention-intervention programs in violent dating relationships with minors, coordination with law enforcement authorities, and to improve the detection and treatment in cases of gender violence health centers in primary care, and offer information sessions in the schools in the municipality and various local associations.
